IMEC Management Team

Joe D’Ambrosio, Sr.

President and Director of Engineering

joe dambrosio sr

A thought leader in industrial and mechanical engineering, Joe has served as a consultant to the nuclear, petrochemical, biotech, semiconductor, electronic, food, power generating, and construction industries. He has created and conducted numerous training programs to educate industrial plant personnel, power generating advisors, and engineering consultants on a wide range of topics; and he has testified as an expert witness in industrial litigation.

D’Ambrosio became a nationally recognized expert in compressed air technology as CEO and chief engineer of Air Power of New England, where he led a staff of more than 50 employees and was a trailblazer in industrial service organization management. He is certified as an AirMaster+ by the Compressed Air Challenge, an initiative of the U.S. Dept. of Energy to build awareness of best practices in the design, installation, and maintenance of compressed air systems. He contributed to the creation of the Compressed Air Challenge’s Best Practices manual.

D’Ambrosio also holds an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License.

To satisfy the growing demand for energy-efficient industrial water recirculation system engineering and installation, D’Ambrosio founded Systems H2O in 2000. The turn-key design-build nature of these large energy-efficient projects led to opportunities as a general contractor for commercial construction requiring extensive heating and cooling systems. In 2008, Systems H2O changed its name to IMEC (Innovative Mechanical Engineering and Contracting) to better represent the company’s wide range of high-efficiency mechanical engineering and contracting services. D’Ambrosio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Boston College.

Joe D’Ambrosio, Jr.

Vice President

joe dambrosio jr

Joe possesses more than 15 years of expertise in contracting and engineering/project management for major projects serving manufacturing facilities and commercial/residential properties. As Vice President of IMEC, his responsibilities include high-level consulting, project management, and sales management, and have included the orchestration of a number of large multi-family residential design-build projects with individual project values exceeding $7 million.

Prior to IMEC, Joe was a top sales engineer with Air Power of New England where he developed industry-leading expertise in industrial air compressor, vacuum, and water recirculation systems. In 2000, he was a founder of Systems H2O and began focusing primarily on saving manufacturers millions of dollars with turn-key systems that improve the energy efficiency of industrial mechanical processes. Joe was also the driving force behind broadening the company’s services to include general contracting for commercial and residential properties which led to the company’s name change to IMEC, Innovative Mechanical Engineering and Contracting.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Salem State College.

Rick Brown

Senior Sales Engineer

rick brown

Rick’s responsibilities include sales, system design, and project management of industrial mechanical systems. An energy efficiency expert, he offers more than 30 years of proven expertise in industrial mechanical system engineering, sales, and project management. His resume includes key roles with Air Power of New England and Atlas Copco (the largest air compressor manufacturer in the world) where he was a specialist in large horsepower installations requiring oil-free compressed air technologies. Rick plays a lead role in managing and securing utility company rebates for IMEC customers. He possesses high-level experience as a consultant/collaborator with some of the leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, power generation, and semiconductor companies in the world.

Rick graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is among a select group who have been certified as AirMaster+ by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), having completed intensive training and testing with the U.S. DOE to conduct audits and modeling of energy savings in compressed air systems.
